Red Lion Hotels Corporation (NYSE: RLH) announced the appointment of Mark D. Mahoney Vice President, Managing Director of the company's two owned hotels in Spokane, Washington.
Enhanced Position Strengthens Oversight of Key Eastern Washington Assets
These two hotels are operated under one management team and combined have 645 rooms, which makes them the company's largest operation. Commenting on the move, George Schweitzer, Red Lion's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer said, "Mark has made significant contributions in his four years with us as Red Lion's Vice President of Sales. With the importance of Spokane as a key market for Red Lion, it is appropriate to have a high caliber executive overseeing these important hotels."
Commenting on his new role, Mahoney said, "I felt an immediate connection to Spokane when I moved here four years ago to join Red Lion. In my role as VP of Sales, I got to connect with a number of the city's civic and community leaders. I'm looking forward to working with them more closely and ensuring Red Lion's continued success in the Spokane-area market."
Mahoney most recently served as Red Lion's Vice President of Sales since July 2006, overseeing the national and field sales organizations. Previously he was with The Marcus Corporation and served as Project Director, as well as Director of Operations for Marcus Hotels & Resorts. He was also Corporate Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue Performance for the Baymont, Woodfield & Budgetel brands during his time with Marcus.
